  1. Hello, I would truly appreciate a signed copy for my nephew by the marriage of my niece to Trevor Brazelton, retired US Navy, it was already on the US Teddy Roosevelt, they were deployed a few days after 911! Trevor seem to be doing well, after many tours on battleships as an Audi including the enterprise twice. After he retired he remained doing the same job out of Norfolk as a civilian. But then things started not to go well, he moved his family closer to all of us here in Northern Virginia. But then he couldn’t seem to hold down a job. Somewhere, without telling the rest of the family, he was suffering severe PTSD days, nightmares etc. Being a military brat have a career army officer major Fred P Badin, I learned at an early age I love dad’s friends who suffered horribly, not only physical injuries, but also the mental scars from having served in a very long war. And some even the Korean.
    War is my dad.
I’m a 1966 graduate of AHS, married to the son of one of Merrills marauders, surviving the war in the !
. far east in Burma.. I’m encouraged by all of our recent classmates from different years who are not publishing great books! Look forward to hopefully it is on Audible as I am visually impaired, and it’s been a blessing to have the ability to read books by ear!.
I look forward to hearing from you, in regards to purchasing a book that has been signed to Trevor. Stay safe and well, and For GOoodness Sakes thank you f We’re serving our great country!!USA🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

PD could you have possibly graduated with a man, Bill will be! They were from Wyoming I have been trying to find him and his sister Lovella Welty for years. Bill was in the class of 1962 I believe. Lovella class of 1964. Thanks..

    • Hi Karen

Thanks very much for your post. Generating signed copies for readers on both sides of the Atlantic has been a real conundrum. Expense rules out sending books back and forth for signing, but my publisher, Pen & Sword have come up with a solution. It’s covered in detail in the NEWS tab on the website, but in a nutshell, when you receive the book you can request a ‘Signature Plate’ from Pen & Sword (or Casemate Books in the States) and they’ll provide a free self-adhesive plate that I’ve signed individually to attach to your book. I hope this helps!

  2. Steve Ladd I too want to support you and buy a signed copy.

I want to pick your brain as well…I want to write a book as well.

My father was a SF GREEN BERET, BROTHER, AND HUSBAND (EX*), I myself served 6 stayed home with the babies.
And now my daughter is a 2LT Infantry. I want to put out a generic questionnaire for us “BRATS”..LOL

    • Hi Donna–sorry for the tardy reply.
Good luck with your book-to-be. It can be a frustrating process, but all very worth it when you get that first box of books!
You’ve definitely earned your Brat credentials–looking forward to your questionnaire. Thanks for your support.

  3. Hi Steve! I just ordered the book as a Christmas gift for my son and requested a signature plate. I was in the command post at Bentwaters when you were the DCO there and my husband are the time was in the 510th. My son Nate remembers Santa coming in an A-10 to bring the kids gifts at the squadron party. He’s now an engineer, formerly at Rockwell Collins but recently divested to BAE Systems. He has become quite the aviation buff and has fond memories of his years as a brat. Looking forward to reading your book before I wrap it uo for Christmas!

    • Raylene! Great to hear from you. Where are you now? I remember you and your husband well. Sounds like you’re doing well and your son has been a great success. Santa and his elf (my wife Elaine) enjoyed those productions at least as much as the kids did.
Thanks for getting the book. I hope you’ll enjoy it before wrapping (don’t dog-ear it) and if you do, please consider writing an Amazon review for me.

Just thinking you might be able to help me out. I’ve been trying to track down my DO secretary Jackie, but don’t have a surname or any other details. Ring any bells?

Please keep in touch and let me know what you think of the book.

      Best

      Steve

      • It’s hard to believe I left military life 25 years ago! I returned to Iowa and have been in Cedar Rapids area for quite awhile. I do remember Jackie but have no info that would help you in your search. Sorry! Have you tried any RAF Bentwaters groups on facebook? Say hi to Elaine from me!

        • Hi-yeah, time flies when you’re having fun eh?
Sounds like you’re well settled. We are too-we’ve been in Bristol 20 years now–seems like a couple weeks ago.

I’ve tried all the Bentwaters groups–no joy.

Tell me, did I drop the Lifesaver (or did you?}.

Stay safe and keep in touch

          Best

          Steve
